About Our Japanese Straightening

and more!

💎Can LVPRO Be Used on Bleached Hair?

Yes. LVPRO offers Hair-Friendly pH 4.5 formulations that can be used on bleached hair when the hair condition is suitable for straightening services.

However, hair that has been excessively damaged by bleaching may not be suitable for treatment. Proper hair analysis and strand testing should always be performed before proceeding.

To expand the possibilities for previously challenging hair types, including highlighted and lightly bleached hair, we developed LV Natural, a system specifically designed to provide greater flexibility when working with chemically treated hair.

For safe and successful results, please read and follow the Technical Manual carefully before use.

💎How Long Should LVPRO Be Processed?

Traditional Japanese straightening systems often rely on high-pH formulations. Because these products can soften the hair rapidly, many stylists worry about overprocessing, excessive softening, or irreversible damage when processing times are extended.
LVPRO was developed with a Hair-Friendly pH approach. Its nano-sized technology allows the active ingredients to penetrate efficiently into the hair while helping preserve the integrity of the cuticle layer. In addition, LVPRO formulations have a maximum pH of 6.0, reducing the risk of protein denaturation commonly associated with highly alkaline systems.
As a result, LVPRO offers greater processing control and helps minimize the risk of overprocessing compared to conventional high-pH straightening systems.
Processing time should still be adjusted according to the hair's condition, texture, porosity, and resistance.

Please refer to the Technical Manual for detailed processing recommendations and application guidelines.

💎Is a Softening Test Required?

In most cases, a traditional softening test is not necessary when using LVPRO.

However, when working with highly resistant, coarse, or strong hair and additional confirmation is desired, we recommend checking the hair condition during processing.

To do so, gently pass a wide-tooth comb through a small section of hair once. Avoid pulling, stretching, or applying pressure to the hair, and perform the combing slowly and carefully to prevent unnecessary stress.

If no wave reversion is observed after passing the comb through the hair, this may indicate that sufficient processing has been achieved.

Final evaluation should always be based on the hair's condition, damage level, strength, and resistance.

For detailed guidance, please refer to the LVPRO Technical Manual.

💎What Is the Difference Between Brazilian Blowout and LVPRO?

Brazilian Blowout and LVPRO are designed to achieve different results.

Brazilian Blowout is primarily a smoothing treatment that helps reduce frizz, improve manageability, and add shine. While it can make the hair appear straighter, it does not permanently alter the hair's natural structure. The results gradually diminish over time and require ongoing maintenance treatments.

LVPRO is a Japanese straightening system designed to permanently restructure the hair and create long-lasting straight results. It is intended for clients seeking significant curl reduction and a more permanent straightening solution.

In addition, LVPRO utilizes a Hair-Friendly pH approach, allowing stylists to work with a wide range of hair conditions while maintaining greater control throughout the straightening process.

The best choice depends on the client's hair condition, desired result, and long-term maintenance goals.

💎How Does LVPRO Perform on Resistant Hair?

LVPRO is designed to work effectively on a wide range of hair types, including resistant, coarse, and strong hair.

Depending on the selected formulation and application method, LVPRO can effectively straighten hair textures up to curl level 8–9. However, it is not designed for extremely tight curl patterns or highly textured hair types that require specialized afro-textured hair straightening systems.

For guidance on curl patterns and recommended product selection, please refer to the hair texture chart shown on the product packaging.

Proper hair analysis, formula selection, processing time, and ironing technique are essential for achieving optimal results.

Please refer to the LVPRO Technical Manual for detailed recommendations.

💎What Flat Iron Temperature Should Be Used?

The appropriate flat iron temperature depends on the hair's condition, level of damage, texture, and resistance.

Higher temperatures do not necessarily produce better results. Excessive heat may cause unnecessary stress and damage to the hair.

Always select the lowest effective temperature required to achieve the desired result while maintaining the integrity of the hair.

For recommended temperature ranges based on hair condition and formulation selection, please refer to the LVPRO Technical Manual.

💎How Should Silicone Buildup Be Handled Before Treatment?

Silicone buildup can significantly interfere with the straightening process by creating a barrier on the hair surface that prevents proper product penetration.

For optimal results, it is important to remove excessive silicone, coating agents, and other residues before treatment. If heavy buildup remains on the hair, the straightening solution may not penetrate evenly, which can affect processing performance and final results.

Careful hair analysis should always be performed before treatment. If silicone buildup is suspected, appropriate cleansing and preparation are recommended before proceeding with the service.

Proper preparation is essential for achieving consistent and predictable straightening results.

💎Why Is Hair Analysis Important?

Hair analysis is one of the most important steps in achieving successful straightening results.

Every client has a unique hair history, including previous color services, bleaching, chemical treatments, heat damage, and product buildup. Proper hair analysis helps determine the hair's condition, strength, porosity, resistance, and suitability for treatment.

Accurate hair analysis allows the stylist to select the appropriate LVPRO formulation, processing time, and ironing technique for each client.

Skipping or misjudging the hair analysis process may increase the risk of uneven results, unnecessary damage, or unsatisfactory straightening performance.

Successful Japanese straightening begins with a thorough consultation and professional hair analysis.

💎Why Choose LVPRO Over Conventional Japanese Straightening Systems?

Traditional Japanese straightening systems often rely on highly alkaline formulations to achieve straightening results. While effective, these systems can present challenges such as reduced processing control, increased risk of overprocessing, and greater stress on the hair.

LVPRO was developed using a Hair-Friendly pH approach to provide stylists with greater control throughout the straightening process. By utilizing nano-sized technology and formulations with a maximum pH of 6.0, LVPRO helps deliver effective straightening performance while minimizing unnecessary stress to the hair.

In addition, LVPRO offers exceptional conditioning benefits. The difference in hair texture, softness, shine, and manageability is often immediately noticeable after the service. In Japan, this type of result is often referred to as "Hair Improvement Straightening" because it combines straightening performance with significant hair-conditioning benefits.

LVPRO is also designed to expand the possibilities of Japanese straightening by allowing stylists to work with a wider range of hair conditions, including color-treated, highlighted, and selected bleached hair types when appropriate hair analysis and product selection are performed.

The result is a modern Japanese straightening system that combines straightening performance, conditioning benefits, control, and versatility for today's salon professionals.

💎How Long Do the Results Last?

LVPRO is a Japanese straightening system designed to permanently straighten the treated portion of the hair.

Once the hair has been successfully straightened, the treated area will remain straight and will not gradually return to its original texture. However, new hair growth will retain its natural texture and may require future touch-up services.

The longevity of the result also depends on factors such as hair condition, previous chemical history, home care, and the quality of the initial service.

For best results, we recommend following the recommended aftercare guidelines and using appropriate home care products.

💎When Can Clients Wash Their Hair After Treatment?

Clients should avoid washing their hair for at least 48 hours after the service.

To achieve the best possible results, we also recommend avoiding tying the hair, clipping the hair, tucking it behind the ears, or applying excessive pressure during this period.

After 48 hours, clients may resume their normal hair care routine.

To help maintain softness, shine, and the overall condition of the hair, we recommend following the prescribed aftercare routine and using appropriate home care products, including LV Serum.

💎What Home Care Is Recommended After LVPRO?

Proper home care is essential for maintaining the softness, shine, and overall condition of the hair after a straightening service.

We recommend waiting at least 48 hours before shampooing and avoiding excessive tension on the hair during this period.

To help maintain moisture balance, manageability, and long-lasting results, we recommend using professional-quality home care products. In particular, LV Serum is recommended to help keep the hair soft, smooth, and healthy-looking between salon visits.

Regular home care can help preserve the beauty and condition of the hair while supporting long-term client satisfaction.
